Shanti garden, a long cherished dream, was finally established this year by Hasan.

Where would we be without him? A brief look at Hasan's CV and it might be easier to ask what he hasn't done! Initially he started out as a professional folklore dancer before a knee injury put pay to that. Then he studied to become a topographer and spent 5 years working in North Africa before returning to Turkey to get involved in the booming construction business. In 1997 he started work as a tattoo artist at the Lycia World Holiday club, where he stayed for five years. Meanwhile he is also a qualified scuba diver, a rock climber, canyoning guide and a paragliding enthusiast... Oh and a yoga teacher aswell.

Hasan has crafted most of the Shanti Garden with his own bare hands. He landscaped the garden, designed and built the reedroof cabin-tent, the kitchen, the gazebos and... well... everything. He deals with the plumbing and maintenence, runs the Shanti bar, organizes the treks and somehow finds time to bake the bread too.
